Chicken nuggets

Chicken nuggets (scroll down for the english version) 


Sastojci:

  • 500g pilećih fileta (dobro provjeriti i odstaniti i najmanju koščicu)
  • 1/2 kašičice crvene paprike (ili čilija ukoliko volite ljuto)
  • 1/2 kašičice bibera
  • 1 kašičica bijelog luka u prahu (neobavezno)
  • 1 kašičica senfa
  • 1 kašičica limunovog soka
Smjesa za pohovanje:
  • 1/2 šolje brašna
  • 1/4 šolje kukuruznog brašna
  • 1/2 kašičice soli
  • 1 kašičica praška za pecivo
  • 1 jaje
  • 2 šolje prezle
1. Filete samljeti u blenderu. Mljevene filete staviti u posudu, te dodati umućeno jaje. Sve dobro izmiješati. 

2. Dodati sve gore spomenute začine i ponovno dobro izmiješati, da smjesa bude homogena. 



3. Prekriti prozirnom folijom i ostaviti smjesu u frižider na 30min.

4. U međuvremenu, pripremiti smjesu za pohovanje: U jednu posudu stavite oba brašna, so, biber i prašak za pecivo, te miješajte da se sjedine suhi sastojci. 

5. U istu posudu dodati jaje i umutiti to sve zajedno. Po potrebi dodavati hladne vode. Smjesa ne treba da bude pregusta a ni prerijetka (otprilike gustina kao kod smjese za palačinke). 


6. U drugi tanjir pripremite prezlu (potrebne su vam dvije šolje otprilike)

7. Izvaditi meso iz frižidera i oblikovati nuggetse u obliku onih pravih (možete pomoću kašike s tim da na kašiku prvo stavite malo ulja, pa oblikujete. I tako svaki nuggets. Ili rukama ukoliko vam je praktičnije)


8. Svaki nuggets prvo uvaljajte u tekuću smjesu za pohovanje, pa onda u prezlu.


9. I nuggetsi su spremni za prženje! U tavi dobro zagrijati ulje, pa tek onda pržiti nuggetse. Po pravilu nuggetsi se prže u istoj količini ulja kao i pomfrit, međutim ja sam dosta manje stavila s tim da se i temperatura treba smanjiti kako nuggetsi ne bi zagorili. Otprilike je potrebno 3-4min ovisno od temp.

10. Kada nuggetsi budu gotovi, stavljajte ih na ubrus kako bi ubrus "upio" višak ulja.

11. Servirajte uz majonezu/kečap ili uz šta već volite jesti vaše nuggetse. Prijatno!



Chicken nuggets - english version


Ingredients:

  • 500g of chicken breast (make sure you check that it does not have any bone in it)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red paprika powder (or chilli if you like spicy food)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard paste/powder
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Batter:
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup corn flour/starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt 
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • ice cold water as required
Coating:
  • 2 cups of bread crumbs

Preparation:

1. Grind the chicken breast in the blender. When it is done place it in some plate, than add scrambled egg. Mix it all together.

2. Add all of the aforementioned spices on the minced meat, and mix it well so it becomes homogoneous. 

3. Cover it with the transparent foil and leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes. 

4. Meanwhile, prepare the batter. In one dish add flour, salt, pepper and baking powder. Mix it all together.  

5. In the same dish add one egg and mix it well. Add cold water as required. The mixture has to be of the middle density (as the one you prepare for the pancakes). 

6. In the other plate prepare the bread crumbs (2cups of them actually). 

7. Take the meat out of the fridge and form the nuggets in the form of real ones. ( you can do it with a spoon just make sure you pour a bit of oil on spoon and then form the nugget. Or you can form them with your hand. Whatever you find more practical for you. 

8. Put each nugget in the liquid mixture than coat it with bread crumbs. 

9. And your nuggets are ready for frying! Put the oil in the frying pan and make sure it warms very well. The amount of oil is required as the one for the french fries. Each nuggets needs 3-4min (depending on the heat) to be ready. Keep eye on them! 

10. When they are fried, remove the nuggets from the pil and drain on the paper towels.
